Walking your dog is a great idea and allows them to release some energy and go to the toilet before the grooming process starts. We feel it makes the process easier and more comfortable for your dog.
You could bring your dog's favourite treats with you, something delicious which your pet won't refuse. We have found that treats act as a perfect reward for that good behaviour and help us gain your dog's trust.
I prefer puppies from 16 weeks of age. Puppies are treated with extra special care and attention to familiarise them with the sounds and surroundings of the salon and introduce them to the grooming procedure. Owners of puppies should straight away begin to brush and comb their puppy gently. Treat as a game, and the puppy will be used to being brushed.
Our system minimises the time your dog is in the salon and provides a stress-free environment for them. Usually, your dog would generally take between 1 - 3 hours at our salon, depending on the dog's size, temperament, and coat condition.
It depends on the breed of dog, their coat's growth rate, and their style. Most dogs can be
every 4-8 weeks, but we can advise you.
Yes, the price of your dog’s groom will still be the same.
After the operation, we can usually groom your dog between 10-14 days providing everything has healed and the procedure has gone well. If you are at all concerned, always seek veterinary advice.
You may feed your dog a small amount as this can keep them comfortable during the grooming. Please do not overfeed and allow your dog the opportunity to toilet well before arrival.
We do not express anal glands as we believe this is a job for a trained vet to perform safely and only if necessary. Most dogs do not need anal gland expression, and a vet should look into why they need expressing.
Yes, I will check nails and clip them where necessary; this is part of the grooming process. If your dog becomes anxious and too distressed, I will not attempt to do the nails and ask you to seek advice from your vet. If the dog needs only the nails checked and trimmed, please make an appointment.
